003.Oslo 04.Dragon Style
19世紀末に、主にノルウェーで流行したのがドラゴンスタイル。
The architectural style that had been popular mainly in Norway at the end of the 19th century was the dragon style.

ドラゴンスタイルは、ノルウェーの伝統的建築として有名な、竜頭を軒端に掲げたスターブ教会と、中欧から来たスイススタイルのビラが融合した建築です。個人的には、ノルウェーの伝統で解釈された近代というか、近代のつくり方で再構成されたようなローカリズムが好きです。
その代表作を見られるのがオスロ。ホルメンコーレン・パーク・ホテルと地下鉄の終点の山上に立つフログネシェテン・レストラン。骨格は新しい時代の形なのに、ログを積み上げ、ノルウェーらしいローカルな装飾や色が加わると、初めて見るのに、どこか懐かしい建築が現れました。外来語を、簡単に自分の言葉に変えてしまう、ノルウェーのローカリティーの底力がすばらしい。
ホテルの客室棟は新館に移りましたが、山小屋風の客室インテリアと、窓から見るオスロの絶景もお勧め。
The dragon style is a fusion of the Starve Church with a dragon head on the eaves, which is famous as traditional Norwegian architecture, and a Swiss-style villa from Central Europe. I like the modernity interpreted by the Norwegian tradition or the localism reconstructed in the modern design.
The masterpieces remain in Oslo. The Holmenkolen Park Hotel and the Frogneseteren restaurant which is at the last stop of the subway on the mountain. The skeleton was a new era shape, meanwhile, logs were piled up and local decorations and colors that were typical in Norway were added. Therefore, an architecture that was seen for the first time but nostalgic appeared. The power of Norwegian locality, which enables to easily turn foreign words into their word, is amazing.
The Holmenkolen Park Hotel's guest room belongs to a new wing, but it is highly recommended according to a guest room interior with the mountain lodge-style and the spectacular view of Oslo from the window.
