世界でもっとも高低差の大きな地下鉄があるのがオスロ。

オスロのメトロは、地下を走る部分も長いので、地下鉄と呼んで差し支えないでしょうが、地上に出た電車は、ぐんぐん高度を上げ、ホルメンコーレンの世界的なスキージャンプ場を経由して、終点のフログネシェテンはスキー場の山の上。多分、世界でもっとも高低差が大きく、かつ、世界で唯一、スキー場につながる地下鉄でしょう。フィヨルドに面し、海と山のランドスケープの豊かなオスロを体現した交通機関です。

冬の週末にこの地下鉄に乗る楽しみは、スキーが、ノルウェー人の生活の一部なのを知ること。スキーや橇を抱えた市民で大混雑の地下鉄なんて、想像できますか？。終点に到着すると、ホームからスキーや橇ですべり出して行く人も。そのすばっしこさと言ったら、カメラを用意している間に、半分ぐらい消えているほど。それぐらいノルウェー人には待ち遠しいスキーなのです。

オスロの地下鉄は、近年、駅のデザインに力を入れており、建築家の競演を見るのも楽しい。後半は駅の紹介。近々、ザハ・ハディド設計の駅もできるらしい。

The Oslo Metro has a long underground section, so it can be called a subway, but the trains that go out to the ground rise rapidly and pass through Holmenkolen's ski jumping facilities with worldwide reputation, and arrive at the last stop, Frogneseteren which is located at the ski ground on the mountain. Probably it is the only subway in the world, which has the largest difference in height and connects to ski grounds. It is a transportation system that embodies Oslo which faces the fjord and has a rich sea and mountain landscape.

The fun of riding this subway on a winter weekend is to find out that skiing is part of Norwegian life. Can you imagine a crowded subway with skis and sleds? When arriving at the last stop, some people ski or sled from the platform. They are speedy, so about half of them disappeared while I was preparing the camera. A ski is a fun that Norwegians are longing for.

In recent years, the Oslo Metro has been focusing on station design, and it is fun to visit the stations by various architects. The photos of the latter part are the designed stations. The station designed by Zaha Hadid is also planed.
